Cure for the Doldrums

Don’t know about you, but my day really improved! It was a fairly poor morning, but things looked up. Here’s why:

  1. I called a friend, and we laughed.
  2. I hugged the dearly beloved.
  3. The sun felt lovely on my skin.
  4. Judicious use of ‘electronic valium‘ worked well.

It wasn’t easy, and spending a couple of hours filling out insurance forms was pretty sad-making (completing these forms involves remembering some nightmarish times); but despite our horse not performing well in the Melbourne Cup, overall, the afternoon was better than the morning.

And that makes the day a win, in my books.
